Launching our New Financial Coaching & Counseling Service with a Free Webinar Series!

Why Did We Add Financial Coaching & Counseling?

For nearly a decade we have enjoyed the trust and confidence our client put in us to prepare their taxes. We’ve also noticed something else. That trust extends beyond our knowledge of the internal revenue code. During tax season, many clients ask for assistance or recommendations on a wide variety of other money topics such as:

  • Credit card and student loan debt
  • How to adjust tax withholding or make quarterly estimated payments
  • Planning for college or children with special needs
  • Objective second opinions
  • Budgeting and cash flow
  • Feeling more confident about money

In the past we’ve done the best we could to help when these questions were asked, but the time constraints of tax season usually forced us to give a quick answer and maybe a link to some additional resources. Although it may have been helpful, it does not meet the high standards for  support and service we want to deliver. So, we are fixing that!

PIM Tax Services has added two Accredited Financial Counselors to our team! As AFC® Professionals, Andria and Priscilla are certified to provide coaching, counseling, and education on a wide variety of money matters.* As military spouses, they have a deep understanding of military life, the challenges that come with it, and the benefits available to help meet those challenges. They have years of coaching, counseling, and educating experience both on military installations and in the private sector. We are truly thrilled to have them on the PIM Team!

What it Financial Coaching & Counseling?

Financial coaching and financial counseling are similar, but there are differences. The aim both is to improve the financial health of the individual or family seeking assistance. Coaching focuses on empowering clients to develop the skills to take control of their money decisions by building foundational skills to achieve financial goals. Coaching typically leads with knowledge and instruction. Sometimes a money issue is not lack of knowledge, but is behavioral or motivational. In those cases a financial counselor can help identify the root cause and provide the structured recommendations and guidance to help the client develop strategies to achieve better money outcomes. Fortunately, our team is skilled at both coaching and counseling and can assist with most of the financial concerns military families face.
